People with lowest disease risk factors are born in May, while the October born have the highest risk. NYC medical database was used to make the algorithm but the Columbia research is consistent with studies from other countries.
Expect to see more of these studies as faster computers and electronic health records accelerate the pace of discovery. However, the scientists also noted that the risk related to birth month is relatively minor when compared to more influential variables like diet and exercise.
