Sheri Radel Rosenberg, Michelle Flood and I had a great scouting trip in Flushing recently for Korean beauty and skincare products/stores. Here are my favorites: DEFINITELY Skin Food (there are 2 in Flushing, we went to the one on Roosevelt Avenue). I love the concept of this store and the product ingredients and packaging are extremely trend forward. Everything at Skin Food is extremely well-executed in a “faux” healthy way e.g. their slogan is “Delicious Cosmetics made of Delicious Foods” but all the in-store display materials are artificial, nothing is even remotely natural. But that did not seem to bother any of the shoppers so I am clearly way more of a purist than the typical Korean beauty shopper. And in the end, I loved how well this store worked so I’m OK with it also. Other stores and products that are worth checking out: The Face Shop, Tony Moly, and Club Clio (for make-up esp. eyeliner and mascara – and note they are about to open a store in Union Square area). Two huge trends: Man Care products and Mask Sheets. More pics of outstanding products and in-store features below the break.
