The “Just Not Sorry” App Immediately Improves Your Writing

Many of us (especially women) use filler words that make us appear indecisive and wishy-washy. Words like “just”, “I think, “I’m not sure” and “sorry” are the primary culprits.  I’ve been consciously eliminating them but now there is an app that makes it even easier.

The Just Not Sorry extension is a Gmail plug-in available for free in the Chrome Web Store. It dynamically highlights weak words and phrases as you type.  Note:  you have to compose your emails in Chrome.

What I especially like about the app is that it makes you very aware of how words can undermine you. You may not always heed the app’s advice but it does provide the motivation to change your habits.

Tami Reiss is the app’s creator.
