Here’s what 31,000 18-to-35-year-olds from 186 countries told the World Economic Forum when they were surveyed about their most worrisome global concerns.
- Climate change was the top concern of nearly half of the participants.
- Over 91% agreed “science has proven that humans are responsible for climate change.”
- 78% said they would be willing to change their lifestyle to protect the environment.
Interestingly, lack of education which is frequently the root cause of many of the top concerns (e.g. inequality, poverty, wars, lack of economic opportunity) is not high on the list – only 15% list it as a top concern.
